About
I am Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences (Development Studies) at the Ateneo de Manila University. I am also a Research Associate at the Institute of Philippine Culture, where I am completing a study on migration and documentary/calculative practices. From 2007 to 2009, I was athe Principal Research Analyst and Field Research Team Leader of the Ateneo Migration and the Family Research Group, in which capacity I was heavily involved in a multi-year ethnographic study of kinship and transnational migration. With Filomeno V. Aguilar, Jr., John Estanley Z. Penalosa, Tania Belen T. Liwanag, and Jimmy M. Melendrez, I am co-author of Maalwang Buhay: Family, Overseas Migration, and Cultures of Relatedness in Barangay Paraiso (Ateneo de Manila University Press, 2009). In 2006, I was an ASEAN Research Scholar at the Asia Research Institute of the National University of Singapore.
